The Postal Workers of Cumbria

This is mainly about the poor bloody infantry of the postal service i.e. the foot postmen and women who, until the age of mechanisation, tramped the roads of the county in all weathers for very poor remuneration and delivered an amazing service. There will also be a mention for post masters, sub postmasters and postmistresses and those involved in the mail coaching era.
