This is your chance to take part in a survey which gives you the chance to inform the future design of library services in Cumberland.
Whether your a library user or not, you can have your say. The survey aims to help the council understand what people think of the current library offer and what people want from the service going forward. And if you’re not a user, you’ll be able to let us know why you don’t currently visit a library.
The results of the survey will be fed into the Libraries Fit for the Future (FFF) Project – a scheme which seeks to futureproof the area’s library services.
People can take part by using the link below.
You have until July 4, 2025 to submit a response. Please spread the word with your family and friends.

More about the project and what happens next
This survey is part of the first phase of the project, which is to engage with a range of stakeholders and also includes a series of public drop-in sessions (which can be found listed on our website) and workshops. We’ll also be gathering and analysing data on things like library usage and current and future demographics.
One of the council’s main aims is to continue to deliver library services that are welcoming and accessible to all and make the most of digital-based offerings which are becoming increasingly popular.
Once all the information is gathered the council will then be able to make proposals on what Cumberland’s library service could offer and how it can best be delivered. Residents and other stakeholders will then be consulted on these proposals in due course.
